When the thing you build breaks, you’ve got two choices:
One sentence on why 10,000+ founders should care. Written by you, lightly edited by me.
claim this slot →Two slots per issue, never more. Both read like the rest of the letter — no banner-blindness here.
claim this slot →Quit.
Or rebuild it stronger.
Last year, I bet big on a project called DTC Unscripted.
It had legs.
It had energy.
It had potential.
And then… it didn’t.
No big crash. No headlines. Just a quiet unraveling.
One of those “this just ain’t it” moments you only admit to yourself when the Slack channel goes silent.
And yeah — it stung.
When you pour yourself into something and it doesn’t land, it’s easy to feel like you’re the failure.
Because when you really care — when you pour your time, energy, and identity into something — it hits different when it doesn’t work.
You question the vision.
You start second-guessing everything.
You wonder if maybe you're not the builder you thought you were.
I’ve been building in this space for over a decade.
And still — this one knocked me.
What made it harder was knowing there were people who believed in it too.
People who lent their name, their time, their support — financially or otherwise — to help make it happen.
To those of you who partnered with us, sponsored the idea, or simply cheered it on:
I didn’t take it for granted. Not for a second.
I felt the weight of your trust.
And if you're ever reading this — know that I carry it with me still.
I'm forever in your debt for believing in something we were trying to create from scratch.
And I promise: I’ll always try to make that belief worth it, even if it looks different now.
What I’ve learned — again — is this:
The project can fall apart.
You don’t have to.
So I pivoted.
Took that energy and redirected it.
→ Into continuing to build brands that actually convert.
→ Into helping eCom founders grow with smarter strategy (and fewer BS hacks).
→ Into BRND Labs — our Shopify studio for high-performance builds.
→ And into content, courses, and consulting for founders who want the truth, not the fluff.
Silence isn’t the end.
And rebuilding is where the good stuff lives.
If something you built didn’t work?
Cool.
What matters now is what you build next and the lessons you take from it.
Let’s get cracking.
